Silver Acre Cottage

Silver Acre was one of the first cottages built on Lake Salem and most say that it has the best location. Situated on an acre of land with a 200 foot lake frontage, Silver Acre has its own sand bar and the Clyde River running beside it.  The cottage has a screened front and back porch, one bedroom, a sleeping porch, a loft with two single beds that is always popular with children.

The cottage has two queen beds and four single beds and is ideal for a family with small children. It has a well-equipped kitchen which looks out on the lake.  The cottage has a Franklin stove and a cozy living room for dining or doing a puzzle. The bathroom has a hot water shower.

Newell Cottage

Our largest cottage has three full bedrooms, a large living room with a field stone fireplace, and a full-screened porch for watching sunsets over Lake Salem or taking a nap.   We have added two sleeping lofts this year along with sky lights to make the cottage much more sunny and bright as well as have a great place for the kids to sleep

The bedrooms have one queen bed and four single beds. The two sleeping lofts each have a double bed. The interior is knotty pine with wood floors and with rough hewn beams which makes for cozy evenings. The bathroom has a tub and a shower. Note on the changes to the Ainsboro Cottage for 2011

Just a quick note to tell you much we LOVE the changes to the Ainsboro! When we first walked in a few weeks ago, I was so totally shocked I thought I walked into the wrong cottage. It is absolutely unbelievable how spacious and bright the living area is now. I love that you can look out from the couch and see the lake through the much larger 3-pane windows and you can even see Little Salem though the larger window at the back. And it's so nice how the fireplace is on an angle so you can see it from anywhere in the room. This room is so much more inviting now on a rainy day. You can actually have a group of people and kids playing in there and not feel closed in.
